Instagram lists

Organize Instagram Saved Posts Into Lists

Instagram saves are useful for casual browsing, but important posts need to live with your screenshots, links, notes, and plans. Tote gives those saves a list system.

Example list

Instagram saves worth finding again

1Restaurants from Reels
2Outfit ideas
3Recipes to cook
4Products to compare

List systems

Start with the list you will actually open later

By plan

Use plan lists when an Instagram save belongs to something you are actually doing.

  • Birthday dinner
  • Summer trip
  • Apartment refresh
  • Wedding guest looks

By category

Use category lists when you save the same kind of Instagram post again and again.

  • Recipes
  • Restaurants
  • Outfits
  • Home ideas

By decision

Use decision lists when Instagram saves are options you need to compare outside the app.

  • Places to book
  • Dresses to try
  • Products to buy
  • Cafes to map

Workflow

From messy save to useful list

What belongs in this kind of list

  • Instagram Reels with restaurants, recipes, workouts, outfits, or travel ideas
  • Instagram posts that need source links, notes, or reminders
  • Screenshots of Stories, captions, comments, or carousel slides
  • Creator recommendations that belong with Safari links and TikToks
  • Product finds, outfit inspiration, home ideas, and event plans
  • Saves you want to share as a list with someone else

Limits to know

  • Use Instagram's built-in save button for posts you only want to browse casually.
  • If a post is deleted or private, Tote can only preserve the details that were saved or visible.
  • When a Reel matters, save the original link when possible instead of only a screenshot.

Build lists from the things you already save.

Save screenshots, links, posts, and photos to Tote, then group them around the plan.
