Elafonisi Beach is a world-renowned coastal destination located on the southwestern tip of Crete, Greece. It is famous for its unique pink-tinted sand, which is created by thousands of crushed seashells. The area is characterized by a shallow lagoon and a small islet that can be reached by wading through the warm, turquoise waters. The beach is located approximately 75 kilometers (46 miles) southwest of Chania. The drive takes about 1.5 to 2 hours through winding mountain roads.
