The Philosopher's Path (Tetsugaku-no-michi) is a scenic stone walkway in the northern part of Kyoto's Higashiyama district. Stretching approximately two kilometers, the path follows a canal lined with hundreds of cherry trees, making it one of the city's most popular spots for hanami (cherry blossom viewing) in early April. The route is named after Nishida Kitaro, a famous 20th-century Japanese philosopher and Kyoto University professor, who reportedly used the path for daily meditation.

The path is a public walkway and is accessible 24 hours a day, free of charge. While the path itself is always open, the various temples and cafes along the route typically operate between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM. The walk takes approximately 30 to 60 minutes to complete at a steady pace, though most visitors spend longer exploring the adjacent shrines and shops.
