How it works
The finder starts with the ingredients you name, then narrows the catalog to recipes that are close enough to be useful.

The catalog
Every recipe is part of a fixed catalog with a clear time estimate and ingredient list.
The finder currently includes 199 recipes.
How ingredients, time, mood, and Jev fit together.
Coverage is code: a recipe must match at least half of its required ingredients and fit your time limit. The finder then sorts close matches by what you have, time, and mood. When Jev is connected, Jev is the model that scores fit among those candidates.
Jev scores whether a candidate sounds like a fit for your time and mood. It never decides whether your ingredients are present or sufficient. Ingredient coverage stays in the built-in checklist, and if Jev is unavailable the result says it was matched by ingredients.
Yes. The built-in ingredient checklist still finds recipes and tells you what is missing. Jev adds a fit score when it is connected, but it is not needed to use the finder.
What you type is sent to our server and, when Jev is on, through OpenRouter to TypeSafe AI to score options, and it is not stored. Ingredient phrases are used only to find the recipes for this request.
The catalog keeps recipes that match at least half of their required ingredients. Add a protein, a vegetable, and a starch, or try a broader time limit to give it more to work with.
Print a card for the kitchen, share a recipe with Tote, or share the result link with a friend. Tote can keep the recipes you want to make in a Recipes list on iPhone.
