  2. 2Tap Settings and privacy, then Account.
  3. 3Tap Download your data.
  4. 4Nothing is ticked at first, so tap Select all. Either file format works.
  5. 5Tap Request data. Only request once, because a new request cancels the file from the last one.

TikTok can take a few days to prepare it and sends an alert when it's ready. It then sits under Download data for 4 days, so come back here once it arrives.

Find watch history in the TikTok app

  1. 1Tap Profile at the bottom.
  2. 2Tap the menu (three lines) at the top right.
  3. 3Tap Settings and privacy, then Activity center.
  4. 4Tap Watch history.

The app shows videos from the past 180 days. Your data file covers whatever TikTok includes in it, with the date and time of every view.

What your watch history file shows

  • Every view comes with its date and time, so you can open the evening you saw a video and step through what played.
  • Rewatches show up as separate views. A video you also saved is marked Saved.
  • TikTok leaves out the last 24 to 48 hours of some activity, so very recent views may be missing.

How do I see my TikTok watch history?+

In TikTok, tap Profile, the menu at the top right, Settings and privacy, Activity center, then Watch history. The app shows the past 180 days. To see your history with exact times, request your data file from TikTok and open it on this page.

Can I find a TikTok I watched but didn't save?+

Yes, if you remember roughly when you saw it. Open your data file here, pick the day in Jump to a day, and step through the videos from that session with Next.

Why is some of my watch history missing?+

TikTok leaves out the last 24 to 48 hours of some data, and a file only has watch history if it was included when you requested it. If the Watched tab is empty, request your data again with all data selected.

How do I get my TikTok data file?+

In the TikTok app, tap Profile, the menu, Settings and privacy, Account, then Download your data. On a computer, go to tiktok.com, then Settings, Privacy, and Download your data. Tap Select all, then Request data. The file can take a few days and stays downloadable for 4 days.

Is my data uploaded anywhere?+

No. Your browser opens the file on your device, and nothing from it is sent to Tote. When you press Play, TikTok's own player loads that one video from TikTok. The file is gone when you close the tab or tap Clear file. Direct messages, login history, and purchases in it are never read.

Should I pick TXT or JSON?+

Either works. TikTok picks TXT for you, and this page reads both. What matters is tapping Select all, because TikTok starts with nothing selected.
