How do I transcribe a TikTok video?+
Open the video in TikTok, tap Share, then Copy link. Paste that link above and press Get transcript. The text appears in a few seconds, with a Timestamps toggle and Copy, TXT, SRT, and VTT buttons.
How accurate is the transcript?+
As accurate as TikTok's captions. Most are automatic speech recognition, so names, brands, and slang can come out wrong, and a creator who wrote or edited the captions by hand gets a cleaner result. Read it against the video before you quote it.
Why does a video have no transcript?+
The transcript comes from TikTok's caption track. Videos with no speech, music-only clips, photo posts, and videos where the creator turned captions off have no track, so there is nothing to read. In our test of 47 recent videos, 33 had one.
Does it work with TikTok share links like vm.tiktok.com?+
Yes. Short links from the TikTok share sheet, vm.tiktok.com and vt.tiktok.com links, and m.tiktok.com links all resolve to the video before the captions are read.
Does it work on videos that are not in English?+
Yes, when TikTok made a caption track for the video. The transcript comes back in the language the creator spoke. It does not translate.
Can I download the transcript as SRT or VTT?+
Yes. After the transcript loads, use the SRT or VTT button for a subtitle file with timestamps, or TXT for plain text. Copy puts the current view on your clipboard.
Is this TikTok transcript generator free?+
