TikTok Favorites is a reverse-chronological list with no search bar. You cannot type a product name, brand, or keyword to find a specific saved video. Collections are capped at roughly 100 items each and also have no search within them. If you favorited the video and have 300 favorites, you scroll.
Watch History has a 180-day cap
TikTok Watch History stores up to 180 days of activity and lets you filter by date, but that is the only filter. There is no keyword search. If you watched 200 videos a day, you are looking at thumbnails in a grid of thousands.
TikTok Shop products go unavailable
TikTok Shop hit $66 billion in global GMV in 2025 with 15 million sellers, and beauty products alone account for over $2.4 billion. But products frequently go out of stock after going viral. Sellers can make products unavailable without notifying anyone. If you added a product to your TikTok Shop cart and it went unavailable, the cart entry is useless — you lose the product name, the brand, and the link.
TikTok search finds new content, not your history
Searching TikTok by a product keyword returns new public videos about that topic, not the specific review you watched. If the creator used a vague caption like “you need this” instead of naming the product, the video may not appear in search results at all.

How to find a product from a TikTok you already watched

1. Check your Watch History
Go to your profile, tap the three-line menu, then Settings and privacy > Content & activity > Watch history. If you remember roughly when you watched the video, filter by date. Scroll through the grid until you spot the thumbnail. This only works if the video is less than 180 days old and the creator has not deleted it.
2. Check your Favorites and Liked videos
If you favorited the video, go to your profile and tap the Favorites tab (the flag icon). If you double-tapped it (liked it), check the heart icon tab instead. Both are separate chronological lists with no search.
3. Search by what you remember
Type whatever you can recall into TikTok search: the product type, a word from the caption, the creator's handle if you remember it. Add filters like “this week” or “this month” if the video was recent. This returns public search results, not your personal history, but you might find the same video or one that mentions the same product.
4. Check the comments you left
If you commented on the video (“what brand is this?” or “following”), go to Settings and privacy > Content & activity > Comments. Your comment history may lead you back to the video — but if the creator deletes it, your comment disappears too.
How to save TikTok products so you can find them later
The retrieval methods above are unreliable because TikTok saves content references, not product information. Favorites remember the video, not the serum brand. Watch History remembers the date, not the product name. A cross-app save tool like Tote (free on the App Store) captures product details at the moment you see them through the iPhone share sheet.
Step 1: Share the TikTok to Tote
When you see a product review worth keeping, tap the share arrow on the TikTok and select Tote from the share sheet. This takes two taps and does not interrupt your scroll.

What about TikTok Shop's built-in tools?
TikTok Shop lets you add products to a cart and has a product favorites list within the marketplace. But these tools only work for products sold directly through TikTok Shop. If the creator reviewed a product and linked to Amazon, their own website, or just mentioned the brand name verbally, TikTok Shop's tools do not capture it.
Even for TikTok Shop products, the cart is unreliable. Users have reported that the “Save for Later” button has changed or disappeared in mid-2026, and products go unavailable when they sell out or when TikTok imposes order volume limits on sellers.
